The Calapooia Watershed Council is proud to be a part of the Willamette River Initiative team that was awarded the Theiss International River Prize by the International River Foundation on October 9th in Melbourne, Australia.  Meyer Memorial Trust entered the contest on behalf of its Willamette River Initiative grantees and partners, a diverse network of organizations working to improve watershed health across the Willamette Basin.  Along with the great work of our partner organizations and watersheds, the award recognizes CWC’s efforts at the confluence of the Calapooia and the Willamette in Albany, as well as our work on model watersheds on Courtney Creek and the Middle Calapooia .

For more information on the Willamette River Initiative and the Model Watershed Program, see the Willamette Model Watershed Program Progress Report here.
